Log into the application.
Click on Student Setup button
Click on the Application Access button.
Choose the school, if you’re at multiple schools.
To assign an individual student to a liscense, from this screen, you can click on the student’s last name and it’ll pop open the edit menu as if you were creating the student.
Update the “Liscense this student” dropdown to “Yes” and update the lead teacher with your name.
You can also optionally assign additional programs from this screen.
Hit Save and close when done to return to the application access screen.

Conduct Teacher-Led Placement
To assess the student’s level, a teacher-led placement test is done where the student is going to be reading the passage outloud with the teacher sitting next to the student, from the teachers' computer. As the student is reading words, then you, the teacher, will want to keep track of the number of words missed. After 1 minute, there will be a bell that sounds, then the teacher will click on the
Log into the portal.
Click on Student Activity.
This screen, will show you all the students who are liscensed within the platform and by default limits it down to those students who are assigned to you. You can click on the carrot (>) to the left of the student name to see which applications the student is liscensed to.
Expand out the student’s information and then click on the “placement” button.
Select the approximate level to begin testing the student. You can also click on the “i” to see more information about the level and test information.
Click Next.
At this point, you’ll want to click “start timing” and have the student start reading. (Alternatively, you can have the student start reading and once you hear the first word, then you hit the start timing button.).
After 1 minute, a bell will sound and then as the teacher, click on the last word that the student read, and then enter in the number of missed words.
Click on Next.
The next screen shows you the results.
In this example, we can either re-test the student if the level was too hard or too easy for the student OR stop testing the student and choose the appropriate level.
If you choose “Contuine testing”, it’ll send you back to the first placement screen where you can choose another level and re-do the 1 minute testing.
If you choose “stop testing and pick a level”, then you’ll want to select one of the options for the series/level and goal for the student.
Click next.
The next screen will ask you to confirm your selection and then also show you the most recent placement test results found under the “Student Placement Report”.
