If taking over for the remainder of the school year:

  • Outgoing Teacher does:

    • Turn on Gmail vacation responder with replacements email

    • Create a shared drive / folder of documents for the new teacher. Share this ahead of time to the new teacher

  • New Teacher does:

    • Check PowerSchool, Clever, Drive etc. for access

    • Add external clever apps (such as Xtramath) to their page

  • Tech Does:

    • In Powerschool - add the covering teacher as the lead teacher for the remainder of the school year.

      • This will effectively change the lead teacher from teacher A to teacher B in various systems such as Clever, Digits, HMH, GoGuardian, etc.

    • Provide device with appropriate software (Sphere/Hovercam, Zoom, etc.)

    • Create accounts as if we were creating a new staff member (no GCN or ELN required)

Q: Do we take the user out of the email groups that they’re apart of?

If taking over for more than 2 weeks, but less than the remainder of the school year (IE: 2-3 months):

  • Outgoing Teacher does:

    • Adds the covering teacher as a co-teacher in Google Classroom or Schoology.

    • Adds the covering teacher as a co-teacher in Go Guardian

    • Adds the covering teacher as an alternative host in Zoom?

    • Turn on Gmail vacation responder with replacements email

    • Create a shared drive / folder of documents for the new teacher. Share this ahead of time to the new teacher

  • New Teacher does:

    • Check PowerSchool, Clever, Drive etc. for access

  • Tech Does:

    • In Powerschool - add the covering teacher as the co-teacher to the various sections

    • In Clever - add the covering teacher as a co-teacher to the various sections

    • Provide device with appropriate software (Sphere/Hovercam, Zoom, etc.)

    • Create accounts as if we were creating a new staff member (no GCN or ELN required)

Q: Do we take the outgoing teacher out of the email groups that they’re apart of?

If taking over for a couple of days / less than 2 weeks coverage:

  • No labels
