Creating A Distribution List
Steps to Create a Distribution List (Label):
Step 1: Access Google Contacts
Open Google Chrome.
Go to the 9 dots in the top right corner and click on contacts, or go to the Google Contacts website at: https://contacts.google.com/
Sign in to your Google account if you are not already.
Step 2: Create a New Label
On the left-hand side of the Google Contacts interface, look for the "Labels" section.
Click on the "Create label" button (it might appear as a "+" icon next to "Labels").
A dialog box will appear asking you to "Enter label name."
Type the desired name for your distribution list (e.g., "Team Members," "Book Club," "Family"). Choose a descriptive name that you'll easily recognize.
Click "Save".
Step 3: Add Contacts to Your Label
Search for the contact you want to add in the search bar at the top.
Click on the name of the contact you want to add to a label to open their details.
Look for the "Labels" section in the contact's information (it might be near their name or other details).
Click on the "Labels" icon or the current label names displayed.
A dropdown menu of your labels will appear.
Click on the label(s) to which you want to add this contact, then click apply.
Note: If email addresses are not already on your contacts page, you may have to manually add them if they are outside emails to Min201. To do this, click on create contact in the top left corner, fill out the information, and then click save.
Step 4: Using Your Label
In your Gmail Inbox, click on Compose on the top left.
In the “To” box, type in what you labeled your label as and click on it.
All the contacts from your list should populate into the box.
